Wedluxe Show 2017 in review

Today we celebrated in the anticipation of my best friend’s big day. Krista-Marie is a talented hair stylist in Hamilton/Brantford area, cat rescuer, Aunty extraordinaire, fashionista and a true beauty inside and out. It was such an honour to attend the Wedluxe Show with her and bridesmaid Christine as we got inspired and dreamed up ideas for her September wedding.

From the moment you walk out of the elevators and into the show, every detail was consistently coordinated with their theme. I love the repetitive colour scheme of white, gold and black with their signature fruit: the pineapple. This year their theme was luxury (of course) and statement pieces. The bridal gowns were elaborate with large embellishments, cakes were stacked high with artistic and personalized details and the tables were set with no room to spare. Long gone are the days of simplistic charm and now replaced with layered luxury. Although most displays were way over the top and oozed with drama, we loved taking ideas from our favourite booths and creating a simpler and more delicate (toned down) version in our heads. After all, it is a reflection of the bride and groom’s love story; unique to them and not what’s found on the pages of this month’s wedding magazine.

We LOVED this table the most! Krista wants greenery as her center pieces and this fits with her vision perfectly.  I love the lace overlay- it completely adds a romantic and simple update to a plain white cloth.

In between booths we sampled SO many sweets. Popular desserts include cotton candy, eclairs, coconut ice cream and fruit, macaroons and customized donuts. Champagne and non-alcoholic mojitos were sipped throughout the show.

We chose our sample box meal and it was so delicious! Thanks to the Around The World Brunch Bar by O & B Catered Station for keeping our stomachs satisfied (and wanting more). I was thankful for comfy lounge seating in a dimly lit area… great for getting a breather with your girlfriends before exploring more of the show!

We each left with a swag bag full of information and samples! One of the best bags I’ve received from a show thus far. Not including the take home food that didn’t make it into this photo!

I enjoyed the many displays, the artistic and creative vignettes and of course, the excuse to talk wedding dreams with my girl.

Can’t wait for September and all the planning to come! xo
