Fear not, for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name, you are Mine.
I find it disheartening that many of us live a life attached to fear. Yesterday I enjoyed a coffee date with such a wonderful and reliant friend. We laughed and listened and when the convo changed to the real and honest truth this topic hit home for me in so many ways.
We open a door to our hearts… just a little… but enough for the enemy to take over thoughts of trust and replace it with compromise. I never knew how far open my door was to fear. I lived so long listening to lies that stemmed from fear that eventually I didn’t even realize the destructive pattern and plan of Satan.
Fear can look a lot different to each person, but we all have lies that we listen to; “no one likes me”, “everyone knows what I’ve done”, “I’m unworthy, unloved and just no good” and the ever so heartbreaking “I don’t belong”. These lies get played over and over and over in our heads and it quickly becomes the soundtrack of our thoughts making us feel that we ought to live in fear and in hiding.
I encourage you to ask God what lies you have accepted into your heart and release them to Him. It doesn’t mean that fear wont try to creep in and take hold in the future. No, because the enemy doesn’t want to see free people living out their purpose and calling. But recognizing these tactics and lies will be an incredible tool in your faith driven life, as I’ve learned from experience.
You are called to live in victory not in hiding. You are courageous and brave and have a fierce spirit. Your fears do not come close to the power and authority that our Lord has. You are destined to be great. You have your own Spiritual Gifts and God has a wonderful plan for you. Fear has influenced your past, but it certainly has no control over your future. You are washed in the blood of Christ and have been made new and whole. You are complete. You are enough. And there is new grace found each day.
You are a daughter or son of the Most High King and when fear creeps in and you are overwhelmed with your own thoughts, the Holy Spirit intercedes on your behalf. “The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” Romans 8:26
It’s time to change up the soundtrack! It’s time to throw out the broken record of lies! Start feeding yourself God’s truth and soon enough you’ll hear these promises of your identity and not the lies of fear.
You can do ALL things with Christ who strengthens you.
